Potty Training! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Ok so we've hit that HUGE milestone of POTTY TRAINING!!!! I have been completely FREAKED OUT about doing this because there are so many "What if's" about trying to potty train a child with autism. We started on Tuesday moring and AMAZINGLY Braden didn't have any accidents that day at all! I was totally surprised by that! He did SOOOO good! Then reality kicked in! :) The past few days have been a bit challenging. He likes to find a spot to hide and pee. GGGRRRR! Any ideas on how to get him to have a BM in the toilet? He still won't do that. BUT, we're still pluging along. I'm trying to stick with it and hope that he will get it soon. Pray for us! :)

Oh good luck girly!! Potty training is hard and I'm sure it harder with the autism. My only advice is to stick with it and don't look back. Kids do better that way.

Good luck you will need it. Ryan is finally potty trained after a year of trying. Last year he showed interest and did really good for about two weeks. Everyone just kept telling me he will do it on his own. And not to worry about it. It has taken a year but within this last month we are finally done. Ryan also didn't like to poo in the potty. He started doing really good with peeing in the potty but just would not go #2. It finally took taking away his one true love. His Wii racing game. If he went poo in his underwear he couldn't play for the rest of the day or if he did it at night he couldn't play the next day. When that stopped working we took away love #2 NOGGIN. Between the to that finally worked. I hope you have better time than we did. Ryan is 4 1/2 and just barley potty trained.
